Halloween Book Signing
Thursday, October 28, 2004. Mooresville (Indiana) Public Library. The program lasted one hour, from 6:30-7:30 pm. I did a talk (forgot my notes and had to ad-lib, but it was all right), and introduced the two members from my local writer's group who showed up, Monte Coate and Alan Garbers. I was in a black gothic outfit, we had cookies, punch and coffee, gave out Halloween goody bags, and had a drawing for three different door prizes--a mug with my book cover on it, a journal with my book cover on it, and a copy of the book. Then I did my book signing. I had 20 books, and sold 18 of them. Whew! Busy hour! The librarian said it was a fantastic turnout (there were probably 30 people there), and she was really pleased. My 7-year old, Piper, helped by drawing the names for door prizes and handing out bookmarks to everyone. Here's a picture my sister-in-law took of Piper and me:
